[HaxeFlixel Tutorial] Optimizing Persistent Sprites with Stamp

Posted by SebShady - December 3rd, 2015

Hey guys, I wrote a little tutorial for HaxeFlixel about the technique I used to optimize all the blood and gore in my last game (Seppuku Jisei) to keep it running smoothly despite all the particles and stuff.

Check it out here if you wanna :3

Feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks :)

Cool! I'll be bookmarking this. How the general experience using OpenFL these days?

I've been messing around with OpenFL and HaxeFlixel for like a year now (although I only recently made a full game with it) and honestly I think it's really great :)

I came across this as well at some point. I didn't realize stamp was a function, I manually copyPx one sprite onto the other. Nice!

Yeah, I only found out about stamp() recently, and figured that since I had never come across it, some other people may not have either. Thus, I made this tutorial :)
